Display.
The display type is one of the first decisions we must answer, whether the room will feature a projector and screen or a large TV panel. A projection screen always feels more like a 'cinema' experience and we can hide the front speakers behind an acoustically transparent fabric. Aspect ratios of the image on the screen also play a crucial part in determining the shape of the screen.
If console gaming is the room's primary use, we advise installing a Television panel capable of handling a 120Hz refresh rate. These are the highest settings available on the Xbox X and PS5 and mean you don't miss a millisecond of the action. In this instance, we would install the speakers around the Television panel behind a fabric-stretched wall.
Sound.
The next decision is to confirm the number of speakers and the practicality of installing them in the correct position to meet optimum performance. A good starting point would be for a 5.1 surround system which envelopes the listeners' ears in a seated position. The next step up from this would be a 7.4.4, which would involve placing the speakers at the front, side and rear of the listener, four speakers in the ceiling and four subwoofers, one in each corner. This soundstage increases the immersive experience significantly. The cost of speakers can vary considerably, so we can work with your budget to deliver the best possible experience.
Interiors.
The final consideration is the look and feel of the room. We have to consider how many rows of seats and which type, motorised or sofa, wall surfaces, whether they are going to be a fabric stretch or wallpaper/paint, artwork, carpets, lighting, including the option of Starscape Fibre Optic panels as well as finishing touches such as cushions and handles.
We can provide all the above-associated trades regarding electrical, decorating, joinery and carpeting. We can also work alongside an interior designer or building contractor.
